At last count, we had discovered over 3800 planets around other stars. How are these discoveries made, what do the planets we have discovered look like, and what does this tell us about our own solar system and its history?

We also have to reserve Friday nights for members and the first Tuesday of every month for our committee meetings so we'd be grateful if you could avoid these times and dates.
